Fungi as Recyclers:
Introduction to Home Mushroom Cultivation
Mushrooms are the world's greatest recyclers. Without them, the earth would be drowning in un-decomposed organic material - and deprived of the carbon rich soil that supports life.
In this workshop, we will give you an insight into the lifecycle of fungi and show you how to create a simple system that will enable you to grow delicious mushrooms on some common household waste materials.
This workshop is suitable for beginners and covers the lifecycle of fungi and its role in nature, how to create optimal conditions for growth at different stages, and how to avoid contamination from unwanted microorganisms.
We run this workshop at special events and for group or corporate bookings. If you’re interested in bringing it to your team or event, get in touch with your date, location and group size and we'll be happy to provide a tailored quote.

Fat Fox Mushrooms Mentorship Programme
A personalised hands-on week in applied mycology & small-scale mushroom farming.
Designed for one-to-one tuition with no more than two students at a time, this is a practical, farm-based learning experience. You’ll step into the full process of mushroom production and learn how a real mushroom operation functions day to day, from lab work through to harvest. Whether you’re completely new to mycology or already growing and ready to deepen your skills, we will tailor this programme to your experience level and interests.
We begin by understanding what you already know, then shape the week around your goals, whether that’s hobby cultivation, farm setup, strain work, or professional production.
