Give your garden a boost with our spent and contaminated mushroom blocks, available for collection in North London. These hardwood sawdust-based mushroom substrates are ideal for gardeners, allotment holders, and growers looking for a sustainable source of organic mulch and compost material.
Our spent and contaminated mushroom blocks are perfect for:
Mulching flower beds and vegetable gardens
Adding carbon-rich material to compost heaps
Filling raised beds for the next season
Improving soil structure and moisture retention
Supporting healthy soil biology
What Does "Contaminated" Mean? These mushroom blocks are no longer suitable for mushroom grow kits because they contain naturally occurring wild fungi, including Trichoderma species. Trichoderma is a common soil fungus found in healthy gardens and woodlands, and research has shown it can help support plant health. The presence of Trichoderma does not affect the suitability of these blocks for use as mulch, compost, or soil improver.
